Carlisle Service Dept.
"Proud to Be of Service"
The Carlisle Service Department is responsible for all street repair and maintenance, snow removal operations, pavement markings, maintenance of right-of-way, operation and maintenance of the water distribution system, operation and maintenance of the sewer collection system, maintenance and upkeep of storm water systems consisting mainly of dry wells, maintenance and upkeep of all City parks, grounds, cemeteries, and facilities. Water treatment is provided under contract by the City of Franklin. Sewage treatment is provided via a regional treatment facility owned by Vieola, Inc. serving the communities of Carlisle, Franklin, Germantown and surrounding areas.
The department is organized into one combined public service department consisting four (4) full-time and one part-time seasonal employee. During the winter months, the department is expanded as necessary with a roster of 10 auxiliary drivers for snow plow duty to supplement our full time manpower. It is also not uncommon for other city officials to volunteer their time to assist during sever winter storms no matter what time day or night.
Our goal is to continue providing basic services to our community within a reasonable time frame. Our daily objective is to prevent any or all services from being interrupted and when the interruptions do occur we will execute measures to minimize the disruption. Our commitment is to strive for constant improvement. Our motto is "Proud to Be of Service".
